The Beech Grove Invitational was a hot and rough one but we got through it. It is one of the toughest courses we'll see all year.

The Bishop Chatard Girls track and field program finished an outstanding indoor season by being crowned champions of class 1A – 3A. In addition, we had three meet champions, Alex Metzger (establishing a new indoor 1-3 A state record at 11'3" and winning her third consecutive state indoor pole vault title), the 4 x 200 relay of Maggie Bell, Marianne Holland, Kourtney Crawford and Paige Laconi and the 4 x 800 relay of Christen Salyer, Emily Boyce, Mary Davis and Christine Kirby.

Roncalli overpowered a four-team field in the annual Archdiocesan boys and girls track meet, but Shawn Nickleson did not let the Rebels grab all of the glory after turning in a state-leading leap to capture the long jump at Roncalli High School on Saturday.

Alex Metzger broke her own school record in the pole vault to help lead Bishop Chatard to a third-place finish in the girls track regional at Ben Davis on Tuesday.
