Week four of the 2012 football season featured three blow outs, a squeaker win by Roncalli, and Bishop Chatard remaining undefeated while Cathedral stands at 1-3 on the season. Read on for the details. 

Bishop Chatard 21, Cathedral 7

The Class 3A No. 1 Trojans looked strong in beating Cathedral 21-7, achieving a win over the Irish for the first time since the 2005 season. Alex Kimack put the Trojans on the scoreboard first on a 1-yard run in the second quarter. Bishop Chatard Runningback Pete Hartley rushed for 152 yards on 27 carries. Joe Fagan scored a touchdown on a 10-yard pass from Sam Neighbors. Rob Dury wrapped up the scoring for the Trojans by intercepting a Connor Rice pass and running 30 yards to the end zone.

The Class 4A No. 1 Cathedral Irish scored its lone touchdown in the third quarter when Gino Gillum found the end zone on a 24-yard run. Gillum rushed for 97 yards on 14 carries. On Friday, Irish take on Fort Wayne Dwenger in a homecoming game set for 7:30 p.m. Friday at University of Indianapolis. The Trojans will be on the road playing at Marian University against the Cardinal Ritter Raiders Friday at 7 p.m.   

Cardinal Ritter 62, Speedway 28

The Class 2A No. 3 Raiders had little problem taming the Class 2A No. 10 Speedway Sparkplugs, breaking open a close game in the third and fourth quarters to win 62-38 over westside and Indiana Crossroads rival Speedway. Logan Beaman rushed for 232 yards and three touchdowns while Jake Purichia added another three touchdowns while rushing for 79 yards on 12 carries. Alex Parrett also scored two touchdowns on two passes from Purichia, who passed for 109 yards in the game. 

Next up, the undefeated Raiders taken on Class 3A No. 1 Bishop Chatard at Marian University at 7 p.m. Friday 

Heritage Christian 27, Guerin Catholic 0

Heritage Christian's Eagles soared over the winless Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles who are feeling the losing effects of missing their star quarterback Tino Smith to academic ineligibility. Matt Hunt was the offensive show for Heritage Christian as he passed for 179 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 125 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Hunt threw his two touchdowns to receiving favorite Anthony Warrum, who caught three passes for 52 yards. On Friday, Heritage Christian travels to Shenandoah for a 7 p.m. game while Guerin Catholic travels to Indianapolis Tech for a 7 p.m. Friday game as well.

 Roncalli 15, Plainfield 10

Rebels quarterback Cam Smock led the team in rushing and scored a touchdown as Roncalli achieved victory by scoring six unanswered points in the decisive fourth quarter. Smock scored the winning touchdown on a 54-yard run in the fourth quarter. Collin McManama scored touchdown in the second quarter on a 5-yard run and Kyle Kedra added a first-quarter field goal.

Class 4A No. 8 Roncalli (3-1) will play Class 1A No. 2 Scecina Memorial Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Roncalli Stadium.

Scecina Memorial 47, Beech Grove 7

The Crusaders looked mighty strong against the 2-2 Beech Grove Hornets, jumped out to a 40-0 halftime lead in a game played at University of Indianapolis. Scecina Memorial gained 194 yards rushing as Rocky Leffler led the running charge with 89 yards rushing and two touchdowns. Runningback David Tarver rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown. Scecina also scored on two electrifying plays, one a 91-yard kickoff return by Kirby Cox in the third quarter. Curtis Henley also scored a touchdown on a 45-yard dash to the end zone.

On Friday, Scecina travels to Roncalli.

WEEK OF NOVEMBER 10

2005 ─ Bishop Chatard posts lowest score of 15 points to capture the Division A in the Pike Hokum Karem (Girls).

2007 ─ John Sahm hooked up with Chris Barnes on 3 TD passes to lead Bishop Chatard to a 34-6 win over Brebeuf.
