It did not take long for Logan Beaman to put points on the board for Cardinal Ritter and send excitement among its throng of fans who were on hand for the season finale. They would have plenty to cheer about as the Raiders dominated the game from the opening kickoff until the final seconds ticked off the clock.

Beaman, a junior runningback, raced 98 yards on the opening kickoff to give Cardinal Ritter a 7-0 lead with 11:46 remaining to play in the first quarter. The  Raiders were not finished hitting paydirt as it buried and dominated Park Tudor in a 55-0 victory before both teams start sectional competition in the football playoffs that start next week.

Park Tudor was forced to punt on its first possessioni of the game and later junior quarterback Jake Purichia connected on a 57-yard pass to senior wide receiver Jalen Chandler to take a 14-0 lead with 7:14 remaining in the first quarter. Senior defensive back Alex Parrott intercepted a pass on the next Park Tudor possession and raced 39 yards for a touchdown. The Raiders led 20-0 after the extra point failed and the rout was on for Cardinal Ritter.

The Raiders finish the regular season undefeated for the first time since the 2008 season when Cardinal Ritter defeated Sheridan 34-27 to finish 15-0 and win the state championship title.

Parrott led the receiving corps with six catches for 95 yards and two touchdowns while junior Jake Hagan hauled in two passes for 27 yards. Purichia connected on all 10 of his passes for 169 yards and three touchdowns. Senior runningback Steve Campbell gained 34 yards on two rushes and scored two touchdowns while senior Alex Strahle gained 31 yards on three carries and scored one touchdown.

The Raiders amassed 203 yards in the air while gaining 169 yards on the ground. South Vermillion will play the Raiders in the opening round of sectonal action next Friday at Marian University.
