The second-to-last week of basketball pick'em proved to be the most challenging for everyone who sent in an entry to The Sports Chronicle.

Two dozen entries made their way to home of TSC headquarters where participants ended up having what proved to be the most difficult and trying week of the 2012-13 campaign. No reader came away with an unblemished record, and no one was able to escape with only one loss.

Winners last weekend in boys basketball action were: Northwest (53-50), Covenant Christian (47-42), Park Tudor (68-43), Cathedral (73-53), Heritage Christian (60-55), Lutheran (54-53), Mooresville (44-43, OT) and Cardinal Ritter 88-53 in the tiebreaker.

David Skirvin scooped up first place finishing ahead of the pack with two losses while 10 readers who missed three games jostled for the remaining four spots. Dan McNally and Jennifer McNally each missed the tiebreaker by 25 points to tie. The entry for both contestants was sent in at the same time, forcing a third tiebreaker. TSC headquarters drew a name out of the hat and picked Jennifer McNally to come in second place. Dan McNally ends up in third place. Todd Verity's tiebreaker score was one point behind McNally's to snatch fourth place while Jerrod McFarland and Jeff Marshall tied for fifth place when their tiebreaker score was 28 points off the actual score. McFarland took fifth- lace since his picks arrived on February 14 at 9:30 a.m. while Marshall's arrived on the same day at 10:30 a.m.

Skirvin captures a $25 gift certificate from Piper's Restaurant (2130 W. Southport Road) and Jennifer McNally garners "the deal" from Hot Box Pizza (715 Broad Ripple Avenue) while Dan McNally wins a complimentary order of St. Elmo's famous Shrimp cocktail (127 N. Illinois Street) and a signature slider at Harry & Izzy's  (153 S. Illinois Street). Verity is the winner of a  a free oil change from Beck Service Center (6025 S. Madison Avenue).  Marshall earns a $10 gift card to Weber Grill (10 N. Illinois Street).

Do not forget to send in pick this week because the top prize will be a $50 gift certificate to Brazilian steakhouse Fogo Da Chao in downtown Indy.
