Two games gave readers fits as they vied for the top spot in the hoops pick'em finale sponsored by The Sports Chronicle.

The two games that tripped up virtually every participant were Ben Davis at Arsenal Tech and Jennings County at Franklin. The wins by both visiting teams prevented anyone from turning in a perfect slate in the last weekend of boys high school hoops action before the tip of sectional action.

Teams winning last week were: Northwest (93-61), Carmel (76-37), Lutheran (65-52), Ben Davis 56-57 in OT, Jennings County (45-43), Mooresville (50-46_, Fishers (59-55), Lawrence North (67-51) and Franklin Central 60-43 in the tiebreaker game.

Mike Cahill, Amy Sanders, Devin Sanders and John Ockomon each missed one game to vie for the top spot while over one dozen readers missed two games to battle for the final spot in the coveted top five positions. Sanders grabbed first-place after her tiebreaker score was only one point off the actual points scored by Franklin Central. Mike Cahill landed in second-place after his tiebreaker score was two points off the mark while Barb Ockomon finished in third when she missed the final score by four points. John Ockomon finished 10 points off the actual score to capture fourth-place. Paul Johnson edged a busy field of those who missed two games since he missed the tiebreaker score by only one point.

Sanders brings home a $50 gift certificate to Fogo de Chao (117 E. Washington Street) while Cahill garners free oil change from Beck Service Center (6025 Madison Avenue). Barb Ockomon comes away with "The Deal" from Hot Box Pizza (715 Broad Ripple Avenue) and John Ockomon wins a $10 gift card to Weber Grill (10 N. Illinois Street). Johnson wins a double steakburger from Steak 'n Shake (various locations).
