Winning state football championships is becoming ever-so commonplace for the Bishop Chatard Trojans.

The Trojans achieved its third consecutive Class 3A high school championship and a record 12th state football title in a 30-13 victory, pulling away in the fourth quarter from a gritty Hamilton Heights team attempting to win its first state title in any sport, ever. As the Huskies battled back from a 16-0 halftime deficit to close to within 10 points at 16-6 late in the third quarter, Bishop Chatard began it works its state title magic.

Bishop Chatard began the title-sealing drive at their own 10-yard line with 4:39 remaining in the third quarter. Fourteen plays and six minutes and 25 seconds later, Trojans quarterback Sam Neighbours completed a nine-yard touchdown pass to Henry Hill early in the fourth quarter, putting the Trojans ahead 23-6.

But the nail biting wasn't quite cut close enough to the quick just yet. (Check out photos from the game at this link. http://www.flickr.com/photos/thechron/sets/72157632088481545/)
