Virat Kohli then joined Gill after Rohit’s wicket and scored 29 from 19 balls. He hit three fours and one six before Shamar Joseph dismissed him in the 33rd over.

Gill found another partner in Ruturaj Gaikwad, who remained unbeaten on 31 from 37 balls. The pair added 86 runs to take India over the finish line.
